Student Enrollment continues to grow in the Brandon Valley School District. Brandon Valley High School is in the process of adding 21 classrooms and 35,000 square feet to its footprint. The addition will accommodate BVHS student growth for the next decade and put the building's capacity at over 2,000 students.
Additionally, an east-Brandon Elementary is in the initial planning stages and set to begin construction in the Spring of 2024, with the opening scheduled for the 2025-26 school year.

The City of Brandon is building a new Brandon Water Tower. Construction began in May 2021, and the building process is planned to be completed between April and June of 2023. When finished, the tower will stand 170 feet tall and contain up to 1.25 million gallons of water.

On May 2, 2022, the Brandon City Council voted unanimously to move forward with a water treatment plant expansion project to meet the City's future needs. The reverse osmosis water treatment system will double the capacity of the plant from 2,000 gallons per minute (gpm) to 4,000 gpm. The system will also reduce the hardness of the City's water from approximately 24 grains of hardness down to 12 grains. The expansion is projected to meet the water quality needs of Brandon until 2070.

The Core Area Phase 2A project is a roadway reconstruction project that will add new water/sewer lines, stormwater retention basins, sidewalks, and LED street lighting to the central part of the City. This project demonstrates that not only is the City committed to sustainable expansion, but it is also willing to invest in and support its existing neighborhoods and residents.

A diverging diamond interchange including traffic signals is slated for construction to start in 2023. Most likely, this will be a 2-3 year construction project. It includes replacing the railroad bridge along I-90 to the west as well as drainage upgrades to Splitrock Boulevard. A centerline median is proposed from the interchange to Ash Street as well as the removal/relocation of many access locations between the interchange and Redwood Boulevard.
